The Champions Carnival was held on the 1st of May in sunny conditions at the Domain Athletics Centre. South Hobart was represented by 24 students, who were a credit to the school with their behaviour and their running performances.
We had some fantastic results from our students.
Amelie, Matthew, and Ruby came first in the 100m final.
Ruby and Matthew came 1st in the 200m Final. Florence came 2nd.
Matthew and Ruby came 1st in the 400m final.
The Girls grade 3 team came 2nd in an exciting finish.
The Boys Grade 3 and grade 4 teams ran 3rd in the relay final.
Grace ran 2nd and Olivia ran 3rd in the 800m final.
Echo placed second in the Vortex competition with a huge throw.
Amelie came 1st in the Para Shotput.
Amelie, Grace, Matthew, Ruby and Florence were selected for the State Carnival in Launceston to be held on the 10th of May, which is an outstanding achievement.

Second Hand School Uniform Stall
There will be a second hand school uniform stall set up under the gazebo on voting day - this Saturday 4th May. A few parents are trialing different ways to give/get uniforms as children grow in order to ensure uniforms are re-used as much as possible before ending in landfill.
As you head to the school to vote on Saturday, we would love it if you would bring along old uniforms that you are willing to swap or donate. Or you could simply source a new second hand uniform from the pile.
We will there between 10am and 3pm. Hope to see you there!
School Association
Interschool Cross Country - Tuesday 4th June 9.30 to 1.30
State Cross Country (Symmons Plains) - Tuesday 18th June 7.45 to 4.30pm
They will need to come on the bus and have their WWVP card and have watched the safe guarding video.
Thanks
Do you know a child that was born in 2020?
Kindergarten enrolments are open!
Children are eligible for Kindergarten if they are four by the 1 January 2025, born in 2020.
Please be aware that children with siblings already enrolled at the school still require their own enrolment.
Pre-Kinder sessions started in second term. Children must be enrolled in Kindergarten for 2025 in order to attend the Pre-Kinder sessions.
Enrolment packs can be collected from school admin.
If you know of other families with children born in 2020 in the South Hobart Primary School catchment area, please encourage them to get in touch.
School tours can also be booked with the principal for new families.
