Final Camp Message to Parents
The Year 6 camp group departs on Monday morning. Please take the time to read these final messages to prepare your child for their big adventure.
Arrival time: 7:30-7:45 to the Hall. A parent must accompany their child to drop them off.
Kit List: One small backpack (and pillow) to stow above the bus seat. One suitcase/duffel bag for the hold-all underneath the bus. No loose items or plastic bags. Please attach sleeping bags to the outside of the main luggage.
Medications: Students with asthma or who are anaphylactic must carry their puffer / EpiPen and upon arrival to the Hall on Monday morning show the medication to Mr Birley.
Only medications brought in this week with the correct forms can be taken on camp. Any other additional medications will be collected by staff and left at school. Due to DECYP guidelines we are unable to administer medications without correct forms.
All medications, except those normally kept at school in the sick bay, will need to be collected by a parent from the Hall before their child leaves to go home on Thursday. Please see Mr Birley, who will return these to you.
Tech-free: A reminder that smartwatches and watches that have data capability are not to be worn on the camp. Students have been advised not to wear jewellery or bring any items of value on the camp and the school will not be liable for any breakages or losses of such items.
Arrangements for our return on Thursday:
Students will exit the bus and make their way to the hall. From there staff will conduct final checks of medication (some to be signed out by parents, some to remain at school) and ensuring that all students have an adult present to collect them and are marked off our lists before departing.
While we are doing this, any parents who would be willing to help unload the luggage from beneath the bus and line it up along the wall (dry weather) or along the bus lines (wet weather) for collection once we have signed the students out and conducted final checks, would be very much appreciated.

Election Day Cake Stall and BBQ
Just a reminder that nominations for the School Association Committee close tomorrow. Please consider this great opportunity to be a part of this group who work closely with the school and myself. Being a member of the committee and attending meetings gives you an insight into the educational opportunities provided along with extra-curricular activities. The commitee meets twice per term at 6:30 for 7:00pm start.
Nomination forms are available from the office, or request via SZapp that one be sent home with your child or by using the link below.
Please contact Anne Reeves here at school if you have any queries.
Being a part of the committee is a great way to connect with other parents and be involved in the school. Please consider nominating to be on the SA committee.
Water Polo- Registering Interest to Play and Organise
We are seeking interest in anyone interested in the grade 5/6 waterpolo competition which runs in term 2 of this year. Could anyone interested please email Ben at bclarkbd@hotmail.com and he can get your child's name down and email you more information. Training is on Tuesday evenings from about 730-830 pm and games are on Friday evening. Teams are mixed and the focus is on fun and taking part. Coaches are generally older grade 9/10 former South Hobart Primary students. Previous years have been fun and a great way of increasing students aquatic and team skills.
We are also looking for parents to help organise as well. Whilst this is a South Hobart Primary School Team it is not coordinated by the school and requires parental support for it to occur.
