Dear Families
Greetings from the end of a long, wet week! Thank you to families who have joined us for three-way conferences this week and for those who have completed the Family Survey. If you have not completed this yet, please take the opportunity via the link in News and Notices today. The survey closes tomorrow.
An important school event is coming up in week 4 (4 – 8 November) of next term. We will once again be having Arts Week in which students will either perform a musical or dramatic item with their class. They will also have some art on display. To help support Arts Week I am calling on any families or family members who are involved in the arts and would like to come into the school and meet with a couple of classes and share their art experience. Students would be interested to hear about the area of arts, how you became involved in that art, why you participate in that art and the like. If you are able to help or have a family member who can, or you would like more information, please contact me here at school or via email anne.reeves@decyp.tas.gov.au.
2025 Planning
Planning for 2025 is well underway. Class structures are still being determined and will be shared as soon as this is finalised. In the meantime, if you have any information about your child and their class placement that will assist in the development of 2025 classes please email me directly (anne.reeves@decyp.tas.gov.au) with 2025 Class Placement in the subject line. Requests for specific teachers will not be considered as staffing is not yet finalised. Please provide information by Friday 27 September.
Regards
Anne Reeves

Headlice
Dear Parents,
Headlice can be difficult to treat. One of the current recommended treatments is called wet combing. Wet combing includes:
- Lather hair in conditioner and leave for at least 15 mins (a shower cap may be useful here).
- Using a fine toothcomb, comb the nits out, and wipe onto paper towel. Stop combing when the comb is coming out clear. This may take up to 30 minutes.
- Continue daily treatment until a full combing doesn’t show any eggs or lice on the comb.
- If one child has lice, treat all family members at the same time.
- Wet coming takes place daily for two weeks due to eggs that may not have hatched yet.
For further information, visit your school nurse Laura.
