Dear Families
Thank you to families who were able to attend the K – 2 athletics yesterday. We appreciate your involvement and your support. There will be more about this in the newsletter next week.
Next week the long-awaited Arts Week is here! Performance times are as follows:
Music items – 6B, 5B, 4B, 3/4A, 3A, 2B, 1A, Prep A, choir, acapella – Tuesday 2:00pm and a repeat performance on Wednesday at 9:15am.
Some songs and a play - Kinder A, Kinder B, 1A and 1B – Thursday at 9:15am.
Performing Arts items – 6A, 5A, 4/5A, 4A, 2/3A, 2A, 1B, Prep B – Thursday at 2:00pm and a repeat performance on Friday at 9:15am.
All performances are in the hall and families are welcome.
Remembrance Day, some SRC students will be leading the school in an assembly for this solemn occasion. We will also be unveiling our new peace pole, provided by Salamanca Rotary. Families are welcome to attend. The assembly will be in the hall starting at 10:20am. Please be seated by 10:15am.

Week 4 at South Hobart Primary School is ARTS WEEK. This is the culmination of a year’s artistic endeavours in Music, Performing Arts, and Visual Arts.

There are many exciting events planned throughout the week, including a huge amount of the student’s wonderful art displayed around the school. |

Families are invited to explore the art on display before and after school, or before and after performances during the week.
Year 6 Graduation Assembly & Afternoon Tea
We extend an invitation to you to join us in celebrating the completion of primary school of your child.
SHPS Hall
Thursday, 12th December
11:15am arrival for 11:30am start

1:30 estimated afternoon tea finish time
Each student is welcome to have four adult guests. We are issuing free tickets via TryBooking.com. You can either print off your tickets that this provider emails you or show your phone at the door. Ticket bookings open Thursday, 31st October. The last date for ticket purchases is Thursday, 28th November. This ensures we have time to organise seating plans and contact families about extra tickets on the wait list. We are unable to contact families who have not booked tickets and will be allocating unused Hall space for extra guests.

Children under the age of five will need to be seated on a parent’s lap. Families with two households who wish to sit apart are welcome to have three tickets per parent, who will book their own tickets. Please email Anne Reeves if this applies to you and you have specific seating requirements.
K-5 siblings enrolled at SHPS do not require a ticket from your allocation, but when you book you will be prompted to reply if you’d like them to attend the assembly. A staff member will collect siblings from their classes.
The year 5 and 6 band groups are performing at the assembly and band students will need to bring their instruments and music sheets to school.
We have photographic permission restrictions for some students and request there be no filming of the event. You are welcome to photograph your own child but if other students are in the photograph, please do not share these on public / social media platforms.
At the conclusion of the assembly, families are invited to an afternoon tea.

Tickets are selling fast -don't delay, purchase through the Qkr! app today! Adults $10, free for kids and vollies. Everyone attending needs a ticket please!
We need volunteers on the day! If you want to be a part of this amazing event, please sign-up below.
We need help with:
* cooking our delicious curry in late morning and early afternoon
* the washing stations during the event; monitoring the outdoor stations and helping in the kitchen.
* packing up after the event
We also need grade 5/6 students for ushering!

Doors open at 4.30pm. BYO crockery and cutlery for dinner - dahl and butter chicken. Dairy free, gluten free and vegetarian options. Wash up stations will be available. BYO labelled water bottle. The main event starts at 6pm!
