Dear Families,

Welcome back to school for term 3. The holidays provided a much-needed break for staff and students and we have returned for the new term, ready to learn.

This term we are looking forward to our exciting Arts Week in week 7. Please read the newsletter and news and notices each Thursday to keep up to date with Arts Week events.

We also have Science Week in week 4 and Book Week in week 5. Our Book Week parade will be held on Thursday 14 August at 9:15am. Families are warmly invited to join in the fun and attend, even dress up in your favourite character!

A special ‘save the date’ is Tuesday 23 September (week 10):

• Open classrooms – 9:00am – 10:00am
• Whole School Assembly – 10:10am – 10:40am (approximately).

All our staff look forward to sharing the learning journeys of our students with you this term.

Kinder 2026

If you child was born in 2021 you are welcome to enrol your child for Kindergarten for 2026!

Please contact the school office to pick up an enrolment form.  Once you are enrolled we look forward to welcoming you to Pre-Kinder.

Pre-Kinder runs every Friday 9-10.30.  Come along and engage with lots of fun in the Kindergarten environment.

  Meet other families who will be starting school with you!

   This is a great opportunity for your child to familiarise themselves ready for 2026 and meet lots of friends!

We have partnered with Football Tasmania to provide additional training for our players.  Starting this Thursday, and run at Darcy St Oval, Football Tasmania will begin 7 weeks of soccer training taking players through to the Hobart Cup and the end of the season.

We have players from all ages joining the training, as well as all experiences. Quiz Night

Our Annual Fundraising Quiz will take place on Saturday, 26 July, at the Ferntree Tavern from 6.30pm (arrival at 6pm for 6.30pm start) 

We are looking to raise funds for the South Hobart Primary Soccer teams.  The more money we raise the more money we can put to equipment, resources and development. 

This evening of fun and joy will not only be a space to raise money, it will present the opportunity for parents to get to know each other more.  With questions ranging from sea-ice to popular culture, we have a night of extraordinary fun waiting for you.

We are looking for parents and teachers to organise themselves into teams for the quiz. While it will not work in all instances, it would be good if quiz teams could form around our soccer teams.

As this evening has been organised to raise funds, we ask that each team (tables will be organised into tables for 8) pay $120 to enter the quiz, Those entering as individuals we ask for $20, and those who are unwaged we ask for a donation.
