Principals Report
Dear Families
Several classes have enjoyed learning in varied settings over the past week with 1A, 1B, 1/2A and 2A visiting Woodbridge Marine Discovery Centre and 5A and 5B visiting the Penitentiary in Campbell Street. I hope you enjoy reading about 1A’s learning from there. Other classes will feature in later newsletters. Prep A and Prep B also visited Woodbridge at the end of term two, and have shared some of their thinking in today's newsletter.
Planning for 2024 has commenced, though it is hard to believe that it is that time of year again! If your child will not be attending South Hobart Primary School next year could you please advise me as soon as possible. Having this information greatly helps the development of classes and planning for staffing. Similarly, if you know of families in our intake area who may be attending next year, please encourage them to contact admin.
Some processes about planning classes for next year that you may wish to know about. Later in term three students will provide feedback to their teachers about people they would like to be with in class next year. Teachers compile groups of students who will move together into the 2024 class group. Students will revisit the information they provided to their teachers in the first few weeks of term four. Teachers and the leadership team use this information to compile classes.
I will ask for parent information regarding classes in week 8 of this term, with a closing date of the 29 September, the last day of term.
Regards
Anne Reeves
