Dear Families,

Another fortnight has passed quickly. I visited Prep B this week and saw the students learning about odd and even numbers. They were concentrating very hard on learning this concept and were demonstrating a range of number skills. 

Students have been enjoying using the new soccer goals in our playground. Earlier this week I received some very compelling writing from some Year 3 and 4 students, putting forward their case that they do not get an opportunity to use the goals. In response to this today I met with Prep – Year 6 students to talk about how we can share the soccer goals. I asked for a show of hands of who had been able to use the goals, then another show of hands of who would like to use the goals but had not yet had a chance. This told me that we need a solution to provide fair access.  

At recess students came to me with their ‘groups’ who would like to use the goals. From this I will develop a roster so everyone can share the goals and have fun at recess and lunch times.  

A reminder that tomorrow (Friday 6 June) is Statewide Moderation Day and that there is no school for students. Monday 9 June is also a public holiday so a lovely long weekend for families! 

Next week from Tuesday to Thursday I will on an External Review Panel at another school. Mrs Bec Jubb will be acting principal in my absence.
