Message from the Principal
Dear Families,
We commenced the term last week with some exciting discussions about our playground. Landscape designer, Louise, from Playstreet met with groups of students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Students worked with Louise to identify areas of the playground that are important to them and that they would like to keep as they are and areas of the playground where they would like to see some change.
Students had thought carefully about the playground and were confident to share their ideas to improve our play space.
Many students who did not get to work directly with Louise, worked with their class teachers to record their ideas and suggestions. Louise will incorporate these in a draft design. Watch this space for updates!
Grateful thanks to the School Association for their collaboration and support in the endeavour to improve our playground.
Many year five and six students have been or will be attending sports trials in soccer, football, netball and hockey. They are hoping to be selected for teams to play in the Winter Sports Carnival on 19 August for all sports except tennis which is on 29 August. Teams are made up of students from schools within our geographical area and on the day, they will play three games.
All the best to those who have attended trials.
On Tuesday our prep students celebrated 100 days of prep! They spent the day exploring the number 100, designing their own t-shirts and celebrating this milestone with their class. (Here’s a maths problem – how many more days until they will be going to trials for the Winter Carnival?)
Regards
Anne Reeves
