Prep B's Inquiry Projects
In Prep B, our Inquiry unit for Term 2 focused on the concept of change. The driving question was “How are living and non-living things the same and how are they different?
We have done lots of different activities to establish the differences and similarities between living and non-living things. We know the main needs of living things being: food, water, sunlight, shelter and air.
In the next phase of our Inquiry process we started looking more closely at the physical attributes of fish, birds and reptiles. The students have learnt the names of their body parts and special features that distinguish them from other living species. We have learnt how to label a sketch showing the main physical features of different species. We have also discussed how certain animals are adapted to the environment in which they live.
To conclude our Inquiry unit, the students have each compiled their own ‘Animal Discovery Book’ about fish, birds and reptiles. We hope that you like our writing and pictures.
