Our school will be participating in a trial of a new tool called the Preschool Outcomes Measure. This tool is designed to help teachers better understand a child’s learning and development in kindergarten. It focuses on a child’s language and problem-solving skills. 

The trial is part of a National Applied Trial being conducted in schools across all states and territories, aimed at improving educational outcomes for children in the year before full-time school. 

Only some kindergarten children may be invited to take part in the trial. If chosen, your child will participate in a range of familiar classroom activities as part of the process. 

If you do not wish for your child to be included in the National Applied Trial, please return the ‘Opt-out form’ to your child’s teacher by Thursday 14 August. If our school does not receive this form from you by this date, your child may be included in the trial.
