Message from the Principal

Dear Families,

Thank you to all the families who joined us for Open Classrooms and our Whole-School Assembly on Tuesday. The school was buzzing with energy as parents and grandparents engaged with students in their learning spaces. It was wonderful to see so many visitors connecting with our classrooms and celebrating the students’ learning.

The assembly that followed was a true showcase of musical talent. The Prep–Year 2 choir, led by Miss Purdie Day, delighted the audience with heartfelt renditions of Cover Me In Sunshine by Pink and When I Grow Up from Matilda the Musical. Their beautiful voices brought a tear to many eyes!

Mr Eddleston’s acapella group then took the stage with vibrant performances of Siyahamba, Price Tag, and Da Doo Ron Ron, followed by a soulful finale from the choir singing Sittin’ on The Dock of the Bay — a recent addition to their repertoire, performed with great enthusiasm.

A huge thank you to Miss Day and Mr Eddleston for their dedication, especially during lunch times, and to all the students for their hard work and commitment.

We also celebrated our students who participated in Brixhibition and the Mathematics Association of Tasmania Maths Relay held on Sunday at Rosny College. Special thanks to Miss Peatling for organising and supporting our relay teams, and to the parents who helped with transport.

Brixhibition was a great success, with 43 entries organised by the SRC. Thank you to Mrs Jubb and the SRC team for their efforts, and to all students who took the time to create and share their imaginative entries.

As we approach the final day of Term 3 this Friday, I want to acknowledge the incredible efforts of our students, staff, and families throughout this busy but productive term. Wishing everyone a safe and happy holiday — we look forward to welcoming students back on Monday 13 October for the start of Term 4.

Regards

Anne Reeves
